A longtime agricultural feed manufacturing business in Clay Center officially changed ownership at the beginning of this new year. Fourth & Pomeroy Associates, previously known as Key Milling and Key Feeds, was sold to Suther Feeds of Frankfort. The late Jim Brown, the majority owner of Fourth & Pomeroy Associates, passed away suddenly this past July. However, it is my understanding that the business had been for sale for several years.

I want to highlight the history of Key Milling by revisiting a story that appeared in The Dispatch on February 28, 2011, and was updated on January 11, 2012. It was written by former Owner/Publisher Ned Valentine when Brown spoke at the weekly Clay Center Rotary meeting.
