Man charged in jail theft waives hearing

Daniel True, 31, Clay Center, waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Thursday, June 13, and was bound over in the Clay County District Court for trafficking contraband into a correction facility, one count of aiding and abetting felony theft, and felony possession of methamphetamine, felony distribution of a controlled substance and aiding and abetting criminal damage to property.

True was one of two charged for allegedly taking computer and cameras while an inmate at Clay County Jail and trading them for methamphetamine. True’s arraignment is set for July 5.
