Nearly $4,000 in generators, lawn tools stolen

Clay Center Police reported that nearly $4,700 in property was stolen from Gerald Baxter, Clay Center, in a burglary/theft in the 1100 block of Dexter Street that occurred sometime between 8 p.m. Jan. 1 and 7:30 a.m. Jan. 16.

Items stolen included two generators valued at $800;  $710 in cash; a chain saw with a 16-inch bar valued at $450, a weed-eater with a handle bar valued at $400; a MIG wire welder valued at $299.99; a two-gallon power paint sprayer valued at $250, a chain saw with a 14-inch bar valued at $250; a weed-eater with a long-curved shaft valued at $200, a 3HP hand carry gas power tool valued at $200; two 22-inch gas-powered hedge trimmers valued at $175; a dual-head halogen work lamp valued at $75; two tractor batteries valued at $70 and two checkbooks valued at $10.
