THOMAS CYRE
CONCORDIA, Kan. -- Thomas D. Cyre, age 65, entered into rest on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at Mount Joseph Senior Village, Concordia, Kansas.
Thomas was born November 10, 1955 in Newton, Kansas to Bernard and Loretta (Dallen) Cyre.
He was a 1973 graduate of Clay Center High School. Thomas went on to receive his Associate Degree from Cloud County Community College and later earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Geology at Ft. Hays State University, Hays, Kansas.
On August 20, 1976 he married Sandra Estes at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clay Center, Kansas.
Thomas worked for the Federal Government as a Geologist.
He participated in many sports including, Basketball, Wrestling, Tennis, Track, Cross Country, and he excelled at table tennis, loved riding motorcycles and being outdoors especially at the Wilson Lake. He was an avid sports fan.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Cyre, Concordia, Kan.; son, Vaughan Cyre, Concordia, Kan.; mother, Loretta Cyre, Clay Center, Kan.; brothers, Dan Cyre, Jamestown, Kan., Pat Cyre (Bobbie), Clay Center, Kan., Steven Cyre (Kathy), Clay Center, Kan., Dennis Cyre, Clay Center, Kan., and Mark Cyre (Kathy), Sedgwick, Kan.; sisters, Judy Prim, Jamestown, Kan., Karen Kleinow (Todd), and Yorba Linda, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Bernard; brother, Brian Lee Cyre; and sister-in-law, Sheri Cyre.
Cremation has taken place and due to a quarantine situation the memorial service for Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Clay Center, Kansas. is being postponed.
The family will reschedule at a later date.
Burial of cremains will take place later in the Spring, at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in St. Joseph, Kansas.
Memorial contributions may be given to Meadowlark Hospice in care of the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, PO Box 606, Concordia, KS.
