Beverly Kobetich Rosenow, 81, of Lubbock, Texas passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021, in Amarillo, Texas following a sudden illness.

Beverly was born in Industry, Kansas on April 5, 1939 to Earl and Verna Kobetich. On August 12, 1962, she married Darrell Thaine Rosenow in Longford, Kansas. They lived in College Station, Texas until July 1964 when they moved to Lubbock, Texas, where they continued to reside.

Beverly attended rural elementary schools and then graduated from Longford High School in Kansas. Beverly graduated with a degree from Emporia State in Kansas and soon after began her career as an educator teaching in Wichita, Kansas.

Beverly devoted her life to family and serving the community in Lubbock where she worked as the Director of Education at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church for 30 years. She was passionate about her work and cherished relationships with her colleagues and the St. Luke’s community.

Beverly was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a selfless, steady and loving lady who brought reassurance to all and lead by her example of hard work, kindness, and humility. She was also a faithful member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. Beverly enjoyed traveling with Darrell and spending time with her family. She took great pride in her family and her friends. Her favorite pastimes included organizing family gatherings, supporting Darrell in his work and sports adventures, shopping with her girls, and attending her grandchildren’s activities.

Beverly was preceded in death by Darrell and her parents. She is survived by daughters, Sheri Rosenow (Steve) of Newcastle, Washington, Becky Melton (David) of Plano, Texas, and Kristi Weaber (Tom) of Amarillo, Texas; four grandchildren, Dillon Melton, Audrey Melton, Brendan Weaber and Kendall Weaber. Survivors also include sisters-in-law, Nola Schmale (Ron) and Venita Rosenow, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021, in the sanctuary of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Lubbock, located at 45th and Memphis. The memorial service will be streamed live via St. Luke’s Facebook page at for those who are unable to attend in person. Rev. Matt Wolfington will be officiating.
