Donna Ruth (Sullivan) Muir, 64, of Clay Center, KS passed away at St. Francis in Topeka, Kansas November 6, 2021, due to complications of Covid-19 pneumonia.
Donna was born in Washington, Mo., on January 12, 1957, to Vernon Holcomb and DeWanda White. Donna attended Washington High School and later earned her G.E.D. After high school, she worked for the USD 383 school system for 30+ years. Donna was employed by the State of Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles as a Driver’s License examiner in Salina, Manhattan and Junction City, Kansas where she concluded her career. She married her best friend and love of her life Robert “Bob” Muir on, June 10, 2012, he survives of the home.
Donna was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Donna dedicated her time as a caretaker to her mother DeWanda and Bob until her illness. Donna was well known for her loving nature, her laugh, and her caring personality. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with her family. Donna in all aspects was a wonderful caretaker and friend, making all around her feel welcomed and loved as her own.
She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Muir, Clay Center, KS; mother, DeWanda White of Clay Center, Kan.; her siblings, Ronnie Gage, Wilson, Okla., Connie Gowgiel, Salina, Kan., Karen Beliew, Paragould, Ark., Larry Holcomb, Paragould Ark., and Hershel Holcomb, Ga.; her children, Krystal Sullivan-Silva (Albert) Randolph, Kan., Jason Sullivan (Amber) of Topeka, Kan., Joseph Sullivan (Jenna), DeKalb, Ill., Kelsey Sullivan (Stephen); Clovis, N.M.; grandchildren Nathan (Angela), Nicholas (Alexa), Mikey, Tava, Graci, Harper, Josh, Lane, Alaina, and Brixley; great-grandchildren, Carsyn, Dawsyn, and Raelynn; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Holcomb; and numerous extended family members.
Unexpected goodbyes are never easy, but in this time of sadness may we all remember Donna for the love she shared unconditionally. Donna will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. “There is no goodbye for us, wherever you are, you will always be in our hearts”
A Celebration of Life for Donna will be at 4:00 p.m., November 27th, 2021, at the Blue Hills Room, 2315 Tuttle Creek Blvd, Manhattan, KS 66503.
