Hailey Franson of Clay Center, been awarded the Garvey Scholarship for the fall 2019 semester. The scholarship is a renewable scholarship worth up to $2000, awarded to students with the highest scores on the Garvey competitive exam. The exam is offered several times a year at Washburn University. High school seniors with a GPA of 3.25 or higher, who have previously applied for admittance to Washburn, qualify to take the exam’
Brett Kulp, Leonardville, is one of 14 incoming Washburn University students to be awarded the Mary N. Fix Scholarship for the Fall 2019 semester. The scholarship is a $1,500 renewable scholarship awarded to select high school graduating seniors who are pursuing a degree in biology, chemistry, or physics.
