Standing water

Tuesday's rain left water standing around the fountain in Clay Center's Utility Park.

Tuesday’s rain prompted the US Army Corps of Engineers to increase release of water at the Milford Lake dame from 800 cubic feet per second (cfs) to 5,000 cfs.

Milford Lake park manager Kenneth Wenger announced the increase yesterday, and the lake will continue release 5,000 cfs until Tuesday, June 25, when it will be dropped to 1,000 cfs.
