Elks distributing commodities next Thursday

Clay Center Elks will distribute USDA TEFAP Commodities to income qualifying families on Thursday, September 16 beginning at 10:30 a.m. Anyone wanting to take part is asked to form a line in front of the building and observe social distancing. Everyone attending who is not fully vaccinated must wear a mask. Anyone who is sick is asked to please stay home.

Commodities will be distributed on a ‘first come first served’ basis and you will need to bring your own container to haul the food. The Elks expect to have food for roughly 42 families.

Commodities include instant milk, potato flakes, a limited quantity of frozen chicken drumsticks, dried fruit/walnut mix, grape juice, peanut butter, frozen butter, raisins, rice, dried eggs, and corn cereal.

If you have someone else pickup your food, please send a signed statement with your name, address, how many live in your household, and stating that you meet the income guidelines. This food is for Clay County residents that do not have a Longford or Wakefield address.
